Eru Shiraishi is one of the 9 New Idol Discovery Audition candidates. He is based on the historical figure Hiraga Gennai, an inventor who was well known for his inventions Elekiter (electrostatic generator), Kandankei (thermometer) and Kakanpu (asbestos cloth).

Etymology[edit | hide]
- The name Eru means "sparkle of jewelry, crystal" (瑛) (e) and "flow, style, manner, method" (流) (ru).
- Eru's surname Shiraishi means "white" (白) (shira) and "stone, volume measure" (白) (ishi).
